A budget shocker is being revealed for Cotati- Rohnert Park Unified School District.
A budget shortfall of 1.9 million dollars is being attributed to declining enrollment and increased costs in special education. With funding received for the district connected to average daily attendance, the district budgeted for an increase attendance of 83 students for this current school year, but recent enrollment numbers show a decrease of 57 students from the previous year. A budget committee will meet over the next couple of months to determine possibilities to deal with the budget gap.
