A California payday lender is refunding about 800-thousand-dollars to consumers to settle predatory lending allegations. California Check Cashing Stores were accused of steering borrowers into high-interest loans and other illegal practices. The company also agreed to pay over 100-thousand-dollars in penalties and other costs to the state’s Department of Business Oversight. California Check Cashing Stores has nearly 120 locations statewide, including two in Santa Rosa and one in Rohnert Park.
