Center Stage, a celebration of performing arts in Sonoma County, brought to you by the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University.
Inspired by the words and action of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., We Shall Overcome showcases the gospel traditions that electrified generations of civil rights activists with interwoven spoken word from Dr. King’s recorded speeches. Pianist and Musical Director Damien Sneed ties together a living lineage of music for this gospel celebration.
We Shall Overcome, a Celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr., featuring Daniel Sneed, perform this Saturday, March 2nd at 7:30pm at the Weill Hall at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University. Daniel joins Pat to describe the different genres the show covers and the inspiration for the show itself, introduces the different members of the group and the instruments they’re performing, how involved the audience is during their shows, the familiar songs that most people will be able to sing along to, and what he hopes the audience takes away from the show:
