Starting today, flood affected areas of the Russian River will receive free curbside collection of flood debris clean up.

Pickup will be daily through Friday with a final sweep of remaining items happening next week. Residents ares asked to separate their debris in three separate piles: debris, appliances, metals, and household hazardous waste. Residents are also asked to move parked cars along main and rural roads so that curbside pick-ups crews can move through the area easily. Supervisor Lynda Hopkins talked about how essential this will be for some along the river.

Estimates suggest the curbside pick up may cost 1.5 million dollars and overall debris cleanup 2.5 million dollars.
