Closing arguments in the first phase of a trial involving a Sonoma County man and Monsanto will happen today in San Francisco. Edwin Hardeman believes that his non-Hodgkin lymphoma was caused by decades of using Roundup, an herbicide made by the manufacturer Monsanto. The trial could set precedent if the jury sides with Hardeman against the company. The company is facing over 10,000 lawsuits concerning the herbicide, and whether it has caused cancer and other health issues.
