Atlantic Council Senior Fellow and former Middle East Advisor at the Department of Defense Jasmine M. El-Gamal joined The Drive with Steve Jaxon Tuesday to discuss rising tensions between the US and Iran following the strike on Qasem Soleimani. Iran retaliated by striking Iraqi airbases which housed US troops late Tuesday, including the Ain al-Assad Air Base. Early analysis showed no casualties from the strikes. President Trump addressed the nation Wednesday morning, appearing to take a tone of seeking deescalation between Iran and the United States with no promise of further US military action.
