The Sonoma County Department of Health Services announced late Sunday that they had identified a second case of coronavirus without any connection to recent travel.

The County says that DHS has contacted the infected person and asked them to self-quarantine. This comes after the Sonoma County health officials reported the first confirmed case of community spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the County.

Sonoma County has three additional local cases of coronavirus, all with connections to international cruise ship travel.

In an afternoon press conference Sunday, Sonoma County officials doubled down on limiting public gatherings, keeping at-risk and older residents isolated, and practicing proper hygiene.

The County will hold another virtual town hall this week with more information and resources.
