Marin Recommends Distance Learning for the Fall

1-20

Marin County’s Education Department is reversing course and now recommending districts start the fall semester with distance learning. The decision was made last night after meetings with county public health officials. In a joint statement, they say the goal is to “support the health and well-being of students and staff”. Marin County education officials had been pushing for regular in-person classes, but they received push back from parents and teachers worried about the spike in coronavirus cases. San Rafael City Schools and the Miller Creek School District had both already announced an hour before the county’s recommendation to start the fall session entirely online.
