Sonoma County is on the brink of passing 2,000 confirmed coronavirus cases. Yesterday, health officials confirmed 38 more cases in the county, bringing the total caseload to 1,979. The county reported no new deaths and the count remains at 16, with 11 of those deaths occurring since June 28th. Health officials are concerned about the rapid spread of the virus. Just three weeks ago, the county caseload was at 1,000 taking four months to reach that number. It is believed that the next 1,000 cases are likely to be recorded by early August based on the current pace.
