A Santa Cruz County educator has been named the next superintendent of Roseland Public Schools. Last week, the school board named 54-year-old Dr. Hector Rico as their next superintendent. He will take over as active superintendent next month. His three-year contract begins July 1, with a starting salary of $207,800. Currently, Rico is the director of diversity, equity and inclusion at Pacific Collegiate School. Before that, he served as Superintendent of Alisal Union School District in Salinas. In a letter, Janice Siebert, president of the school board, said of Rico “We have the utmost faith in Dr. Rico and think he is the best person to champion Roseland Public Schools.”
