Man With Blood Clot After J&J Vaccine to be Released This Week

A Bay Area man will be discharged from the UCSF Medical Center later this week after getting the rare blood clot side effect from the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Officials said yesterday that the man was admitted to UCSF nearly two weeks after receiving the single-dose vaccine. The odds of developing blood clots after the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is 1 in 1-million for men. It is slightly higher for women, with 7 in 1-million odds. The man was admitted last week, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
