An electric bicycle sharing program between Sonoma and Marin counties is on track to start by early 2022. The Sonoma County Transportation Authority and Transportation Authority of Marin are developing the pilot program which would provide 300 electric bicycles to rent. Bike stations will be concentrated near Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit stations and key employment areas. So far, the Novato, San Rafael and Santa Rosa city councils have voted to back the proposal with presentations coming for Petaluma, Rohnert Park and Larkspur city councils. The program is being funded with a $826,000 grant from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
