An inmate at the Mendocino County Jail has been saved after a suicide attempt. Deputies received a call Yesterday around 12:15 PM from an inmate saying another across from his cell was trying to kill himself. Deputies arrived to found the man hanging from a makeshift noose and were able to get him down while he was still breathing and had a pulse. Medical personnel took over treatment and transferred the inmate to a local hospital for further assessment.
