The push to get Californians vaccinated now includes a $116-million dollar collection of gifts and prizes.  Governor Gavin Newsom says the give away starts with “2-million in gift cards” which will be distributed as $50-dollar gift cards for anyone that hasn’t yet been vaccinated who decides to get the shot.

From there, two cash lotteries will be held on June 4th, where 15 people will win $50-thousand dollars each.  And on June 11th another fifteen $50-thousand dollar winners will be selected. Finally, ten winners will be selected on June 15th and the cash prize for each of those winners is $1.5-million dollars. If you have received at least one shot, you are eligible for the drawings. The incentive plan has been waiting in the wings for about a month. Efforts are being focused on young people and communities of color.
