California is being lauded for its low COVID-19 transmission rate. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says California and Vermont are the only two states that have low levels of community transmission. Both states have a seven-day average case-rate of under ten per 100-thousand, and a positivity-rate of under five percent. Governor Gavin Newsom says 39-million doses of the vaccine have been administered within the state.

As for Sonoma County, case rates have gone up slightly. After bottoming out at 305 in mid May, our 7-day average of active cases is up to 389.
