Dozens of firefighters in Sonoma County are helping out with fighting major wildfires burning to the north. There are three strike teams with five engines each that were sent to help fight the Dixie Fire burning in Butte County. The strike teams are made up of 50 firefighters that are from fire departments in Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Creek Rancheria, Lakeville, and Petaluma. Another strike team left earlier this week to help fight the Tamarack Fire south of Lake Tahoe. The five engines come from the Gold Ridge, Monte Rio, Rancho Adobe, and Sonoma Valley fire districts, as well as the Healdsburg Fire Department.
