Former Shoreline Unified Superintendent Charged with Child Molestation

A former Superintendent of a district that includes schools in Sonoma and Marin counties has been charged with molesting a 9-year-old boy. 67-year-old Robert Raines, former superintendent of the Shoreline Unified School District, has been charged with the misdemeanor count by the Marin County DA’s office. Raines was originally arrested back in June on suspicion of felony lewd acts on a child under the age of 14. As a misdemeanor charge, the crime is punishable by a fine of up to $5,000 and up to a year in county jail. Investigators have not released any information on whether the crime occurred against a student or on school property. Arraignment for Raines is set for August 18th.
