Sheriff’s Deputy Passes Away Due to Covid

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of their own. Officials announced yesterday that Correctional Lieutenant Bobby Travelstead died because of the coronavirus. The sheriff’s office said in a social media post that he died on Wednesday at a hospital. Travelstead had been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2007, working in several roles in the Detention Division. He was eventually promoted to lieutenant in 2019. The Sheriff’s Department is not disclosing his vaccination status, citing privacy laws.
