Sonoma County has named its interim public defender. Jeff Mitchell was chosen to become the county’s public defender over the weekend. Mitchell will start his interim role this Friday and he will replace Kathleen Pozzi, who is retiring. Mitchell, who has been a public defense attorney in Sonoma County for over 25 years, said that he is in the running for the permanent job.
