Santa Rosa will settle with a seventh protester who was injured during last summer’s protests against systemic racism and police brutality. The city will pay $105-thousand to 25-year-old Ryland Stamey of Santa Rosa who was hit in the forehead with a rubber bullet leaving him with “severe lacerations and bruising.” The officer who shot Stamey remains unidentified. Stamey and his lawyer are still asking for the officer’s identity to be released along with any results of an internal investigation, discipline, and retraining. With this latest settlement, the city has paid out $2.2-million to seven protesters from last summer.
