Blood Banks across the country are hurting. The Press Democrat reports that, due to the Delta Variant, the American Red Cross has been struggling with a half-day supply of O-Positive and O-Negative blood supplies for the last several weeks. Their goal is to have a 5-day supply of all blood types. Blood donors are being sought nationwide and there are two notable blood drives happening in Sonoma County. First, the local American Red Cross Chapter is hosting a blood drive at their Santa Rosa location at 5297 Aero Drive from 10 AM to 3 PM Tuesday. That’s being followed up by another blood drive at Calvary Chapel of Petaluma, Wednesday from 10 AM to 3 PM. And finally, Vitalant Blood bank is hosting a blood drive from 10 AM to 3:15 PM tomorrow at Sonoma State University.
