Paulin Meadow will be getting protection. Today, the Board of Supervisors are expected to approve the transfer of the 10 acre property near the Chanate campus to the Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District. The move will ensure the protection of the Paulin Meadow as open space in perpetuity. The meadow along with the Paulin Creek Preserve and land owned by Sonoma Water will work as an informal urban nature preserve and recreation space. Eventually, the Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District will look to transfer the ownership of the meadow and preserve to a government or nonprofit entity for conservation. That will happen after incorporating the meadow into the adjacent Paulin Creek Preserve.
