Sonoma County health officials are encouraging residents to frequently use rapid coronavirus tests. As travel increases during the holiday, officials said yesterday that antigen testing is a way of increasing one’s protection. The cost of these tests are about $25 for a two-test kit.
To the south, COVID-19 rapid test kits are being distributed to thousands of school kids in Marin County. The Marin IJ says the school districts are handing out 47-thousand rapid test kits for every student and staff member ahead of the holiday break. The decision was made in an effort to try and stay one step ahead of any COVID outbreaks in the new year. The rapid test is supposed to be taken the day before students return to class in early January. If someone tests positive, they can stay home in quarantine and avoid exposing others.
