Santa Rosa Junior College’s Student Support Manager, her son, and another man have have been arrested for Narcotics Trafficking and possession of a Ghost Gun. After beginning a investigation into drug trafficking last month, Santa Rosa police detectives executed search warrants on the homes of Rey David Garcia and Hilleary Zarate. Zarate works as the head of student support at SRJC. The search carried on Monday found about 4 pounds of methamphetamine in little baggies, 2.5 ounces of cocaine, and a Ghost gun in the possession of Hilleary’s adult son, Darrick Zarate. Other items were also indicative of drug trafficking including several pieces of clean/unused packaging, multiple digital scales, multiple cell phones, and cash. Rey and Hilleary were arrested for drug related charges while Darrick was charged with violation of probation for possessing a ghost firearm. SRJC says that Zarate has been placed on leave until further notice.
