California Covid Cases See Dropoff But Are Still High

California health officials reported 181 deaths and 28,080 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Yesterday’s fatalities reportedly boost the Golden State’s cumulative, coronavirus-related death toll to 79-thousand-802. State health officials report that 73-point-three-percent of California residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In Sonoma County, active cases stand at 19,325 – a number that represents about 3.8-percent of the county’s population. The county and the state are seeing steep drop-offs in active cases as the Omicron surge passes.
