Cloverdale Mayor Todd Lands was booted from his daughter’s high school basketball game for threatening a referee. The North Coast Officials Association says two refs asked Lands to leave last Friday’s game between Cloverdale and Middletown High Schools. He was also ordered to stay home during Saturday’s game. The officials’ association says Lands walked on the court to berate two referees about a call they made. He allegedly said “if my daughter gets injured, I’ll see you out in the parking lot.” One of the refs tells the Press Democrat it was the first time he’s thrown a parent out of a game in more than a decade.
