Street and sidewalk dining could soon become a permanent fixture in Santa Rosa. Next week, the city council plans to discuss expanding the temporary parklet program that came about because of the pandemic. Businesses could be allowed to build permanent outdoor spaces in public rights of way. Allowing outdoor dining setups to stay up full time would first mean ensuring they follow local, state, and federal safety codes.
