A watchdog group says oil refiners need to be held accountable for alleged price-gouging in California. The group, “Consumer Watchdog” wants lawmakers to pass ‘SB-1322’, it would require all California refiners to disclose their California profits every month, hoping to create more accountability. They say the first quarter profit reports show some California oil refiners made double the profits in the first quarter of 2022, more than any other region in the U.S. and five times more than the first quarter of 2021.
