Items confiscated from Valentin J. Rodriguez (Petaluma Police)
A man has been arrested at the Motel 6 in Petaluma after staff found a ghost gun inside a room. On Friday afternoon, the Motel 6 staff made entry into a room where the guest was supposed to have checked out looking to clean the room. Upon entering, they found a handgun on the dresser and a large amount of marijuana in a backpack. The staff confiscated the items and handed them over to police and officers obtained information on who paid for the room. The firearm turned out to be a Polymer 80 handgun, commonly known as a Ghost Gun. It was loaded with a high capacity magazine which contained .40 caliber armor piercing bullets. A few hours later, the guest had returned and was upset about his missing items leading to staff calling police. They arrived and arrested 18-year-old Valentin J. Rodriguez on four firearm related charges.
