California will no longer require weekly COVID testing for unvaccinated workers. To better align with current federal recommendations, the California Department of Public Health is ending policies that required weekly COVID-19 testing for unvaccinated individuals in high-risk workplaces like healthcare facilities and schools. The state’s vaccination requirements for employees in these work settings however, will remain in effect. Changes to policies regarding state workers will be announced separately by CalHR.
