In an effort to help California’s homeless crisis, Governor Gavin Newsom is making the first part of a 700-million two-year plan available in cleaning up encampments.  He says the state is leading the way on homelessness solutions. Newsom announced that 240-million-dollars are available from the Encampment Resolution Fund grant program. It will clean up encampments and help people get housing and shelters. One-hundred-fifty-million-dollars will also be used to prioritize projects helping people living in encampments on highways, bridges, and other infrastructure. California cities are able to submit funding applications.
