A pair of animal rights activists will stand trial for their actions during protests in the Petaluma area. They’re facing several charges, including conspiracy, burglary, trespassing, unlawful assembly and theft following three protests at poultry and duck farms in 2018 and 2019. They’re accused of breaking into the farms and stealing birds, while claiming they were freeing them from harmful conditions. They’re also accused of chaining themselves to one of the properties. Hundreds of people attended the three different protests. The suspects are due in court to be arraigned on the charges on December 14th.
