Generator Safety Emphasized During Storm Events

As heavy storms continue to hit California, residents are being reminded on how to properly use a common tool used in power outages.  The Portable Generator Manufacturers’ Association is getting the word out regarding safety guidelines.  The organization says to never use those types of Generators indoors due to the threat of carbon monoxide poisoning.  It adds if folks are in the market for purchasing one, make sure it has a proper CO shut off switch.  Carbon monoxide is odorless and poisoning symptoms include headache, nausea and shortness of breath.  PGMA says leave the area immediately if those symptoms develop.
