Construction of a new $25-million fire station in Fountaingrove could start as soon as this fall. On Tuesday, the Santa Rosa City Council awarded a contract to the local companies that will design and build the station. The new building will replace the Fountaingrove fire station destroyed by the Tubbs Fire in 2017. It will have room for extra fire engines and staff during extreme weather. City officials are confident it will improve response times in Fountaingrove and help the Santa Rosa Fire Department be better prepared for large emergencies.
