Healdsburg is getting an eleven-point-eight-million-dollar grant to pay for protected bike lanes and pedestrian improvements on Healdsburg Avenue. The money is coming from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. It will pay for part of the construction of a series of improvements to a nearly two-mile stretch of Healdsburg Avenue between Powell Avenue to just south of Passalacqua Road. The project will cut the number of driving lanes on the road from five to three, with the bike lanes being ten-feet wide. Construction is expected to start in 2026.
