California is falling behind when it comes to measuring the amount of water in streams. North Bay State Senator Bill Dodd is proposing a bill that would help manage that information. Currently, about 70-percent of California’s streams do not have the equipment needed to record key data like flow rate. Dodd’s new bill would make the state install or fix broken gages to do this. The bill would also fix gaps at weather stations and other water infrastructure to ensure accurate data collection. Senator Dodd says that this information is vital to our state’s ability to fight climate change.
