The owner of apartments in Cloverdale has been ordered to pay one-point-six-million-dollars to settle a lawsuit filed by residents. The residents sued, saying they had to endure poor living conditions for years. They included, rodents, defective plumbing, a lack of adequate heat, deteriorating and ineffective weatherproofing, mold, and stagnant water issues. Eight families involved in the case will get between 100-thousand and 335-thousand-dollars. They lived in the McCray Road Apartments, which in an 80-year-old converted motel.
