There’s no slowing the COVID crisis in California. Modeling from the Department of Public Health estimates cases are spreading again after a two month drop. The state hit a grim milestone just last week, topping 12-million infections as the most contagious omicron strain becomes dominant. The good news is that this isn’t causing a surge in hospitalizations like when the winter high hit 4,600.
Active Cases in Sonoma County, though, remain under 500. Winter cases peaked at over 1,400 cases in mid-December.
