Santa Rosa Mayor Natalie Rogers says she’s been disrespected because of her race. That’s what Rogers, the city’s first black mayor, told an audience at a black history month event on Saturday. The mayor says she’s been stymied and mistreated by her political colleagues because she’s black. Rogers claims that on the Santa Rosa City Council, she’s “been undermined, disrespected, and not allowed the opportunity to speak until decisions have been made.” There has been no comment from her fellow city council members. Rogers was picked as mayor by her colleagues in December.
