California is officially moving on from the pandemic. The COVID state of emergency ends today, three years after it began. Governor Newsom called it an “effective and necessary tool” to protect millions of people, saying “we wouldn’t have gotten to this point without it.” All tests, vaccines and treatments from the federal stockpile will continue to be free as long as the supply lasts. The state just topped 100-thousand COVID deaths last week.
