A civil rights lawsuit has been settled between Lake County and a former deputy district attorney. Daniel Flesch reached a $825-thousand settlement with the county in December after alleging that he was discriminated and retaliated against at the county District Attorney’s Office. Flesch complained about several sexist and racist occurrences in the workplace including regular use of the “n” word in the office, one colleague displaying “offensive, sexist and bigoted” items, and an anti-semitic message said to Flesch who is Jewish. Flesch resigned from the Lake County DA’s office at the beginning of year and told the Press Democrat that he was disappointed in the settlement as he hoped for change.
