Santa Rosa Mayor Natalie Rogers is walking back comments she made last weekend, claiming she’s been the victim of racial bias and mistreatment during her time as mayor. Rogers, the city’s first black mayor, now says her comments weren’t a reflection or her colleagues or her time on the Santa Rosa City Council. She says she was instead speaking about her experience in the community and not about her experience at City Hall. During a speech on Saturday, Rogers said she had been “undermined, disrespected, and not allowed the opportunity to speak until decisions have been made” on the council.
