California AG Announces Settlement with Gas Station Owners Accused of Cutting Corners on Environmental Waste

The state attorney general is cracking down on how companies handle environmental waste. Rob Bonta says California won’t allow them to cut corners. He revealed a nearly two-million dollar settlement yesterday with five gas station owners. He claims they operated above-ground and underground storage tanks systems without proper safety measures in place, putting drinking water at risk. The violations allegedly happened at 14 gas stations in Alameda, Lake, Mendocino, Santa Clara, and Sonoma counties.
