It’s now easier than ever for Californians to find out if they have money waiting to be claimed. Nearly 12-billion dollars worth of property is being held such as cashier’s checks, items in safe deposit boxes, insurance policies and escrow accounts. The state has teamed up with the national website MissingMoney.com, offering another way to search. Officials say one in three people who go online typically find unclaimed property.
