An undocumented farmworker who was shot and killed by a Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputy last summer was on methamphetamine at the time of his death. That’s according to a report issued by the Marin County Coroner’s Office. A deputy shot the man three times in the head and chest after a 45-minute foot chase through rough terrain in rural Knights Valley on July 29th. Deputies were investigating the man after reports of a break-in attempt, and of him acting erratically. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department says the deputy shot the man after he appeared to be reaching for a rock. Prosecutors have yet to rule if the two deputies involved broke any laws.
