Caltrans Offering Vehicles Damaged by Potholes Up to $10,000

Did your car get damaged by potholes during the recent storms? As rain-slogged California braces for its next storm, Caltrans is offering up to ten-thousand-dollars to drivers whose vehicles have been damaged by potholes on its freeways. A damage claim can be filed directly with the agency by anyone who believes Caltrans caused “monetary loss,” according to dot.ca.gov. On Wednesday, more than 30 vehicles were disabled with flat tires and other damage after driving over large potholes on the rain-soaked 71 freeway in Pomona. This offer does not apply to county roads, only freeways and state highways.
