The county’s top philanthropic organization is getting a new leader. Forty-nine year-old Oscar Chavez of Windsor will become President and CEO of Community Foundation Sonoma County beginning March 27th. Chavez will work with several sectors and industries of the county to find solutions for its biggest problems. He will concentrate on disparities among neighborhoods, with a focus on race, ethnicity and gender. Community Foundation Sonoma County has over $227-million in assets and has awarded nearly $300 million in grants since its founding in 1983.
