Fort Bragg police had to use a stun gun to subdue a man attacking an ambulance crew. On Monday night, a man being transported by ambulance became agitated, grabbed medical shears, freed himself, and began to chase the ambulance staff. During the chaos, the ambulance crew stopped and evacuated the vehicle. Officers arrived and the suspect ran from the area towards Sea Bird Lodge still carrying the scissors. Finally, the man ran onto the grounds of a senior living facility and attempted to enter a resident’s cottage. It was then an officer used his stun gun to subdue him. He was taken to a local hospital and underwent a mental health evaluation. Police have stated drugs could be a factor.
