Sonoma County’s new managed homeless encampment is now accepting residents. The emergency camp at the county’s government campus in north Santa Rosa opened on Tuesday. The site, in the parking lot of the county’s planning and permitting department, was expected to take in 15 homeless people on Tuesday. About 70 to 100 people are expected to move in by the end of the week. Meanwhile, the county is preparing to clear the growing homeless encampment on the Joe Rodota Trail in west Santa Rosa tomorrow. Officials counted 90 tents on the trail on Monday.
