Town Hall Meeting Next Week on Future of Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma

A meeting will be held to discuss the future of the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds. In January, the Petaluma City Council voted to take over control of the 55-acre property when it’s 50 year lease with the California’s 4th District Agricultural Association expires at the end of this year. Since then, both sides have not been able to come to an agreement of how to operate the fair beyond this year. Tawny Tesconi, CEO of the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds and Event Center, say they’ve called a town hall to hash it out.
“Talking about the city’s decision to take over management of the fairgrounds and discussing the potential complications that might come with trying to put on our annual fair and some of the events that happen here at the fairgrounds,” said Tesconi.
The meeting will be held at Herzog Hall next Wednesday at 5:30 PM. More info can be found at Sonoma dash MarinFair dot org.
